By the time Yosuke recovers, she's right next to him, her handgun aimed point-blank at his head.] Was that short enough for you, senpai? [She says, her tone gravely serious. The shadow's correct; she wouldn't kill Yosuke. She could never. But she's gambling that even a shadow would have to think twice before calling her bluff, with a revolver that powerful right up against its head.] I suppose it's too much to hope that you've gotten it out of your system. |
[ Time to go! Yosuke nods over his shoulder as he starts to turn the other way, which the robots seem to pick up on quickly. ]

[ It would normally take more than just a glance to hold him in place, but Yu is special. He always has been. He's never really seen Yu as just entertainment, but it's easier to try and break away from the conversation that way. it is, after all, his calling card. The world is just too boring.
He doesn't back away when Yu approaches, though he does look a little wary. What exactly is he getting at--

His eyes widen considerably when Yu embraces him. He freezes, unable to move, but wanting to run.

[ There could be a witty metaphor in there somewhere, but he decides to leave it open-ended. It's so easy to draw his own conclusions, to give into the gut feeling of anger knowing that this boy has caused his best friend pain. Yosuke can be quick to judge and simultaneously quick to forgive, but not right now. ]

[ Yu feels the change more than he sees it, at first. The way Yosuke freezes and then shifts is enough to get him to open his eyes - when had he shut them? - and that allows him to see the glitching that washes over Yosuke's body. Slowly, carefully, Yu unwinds his arms from around his best friend and steps back. He keeps his hands close, hovering, but not touching. His eyes search Yosuke's face and they are wondering and unsure and steady and too fond.
He doesn't say anything else. He's already said his piece. All he needs to know is Yosuke's answer. Yosuke, really Yosuke, not just the repressed pieces of his soul.
The way he holds his body so carefully, on the edge of flight or surrender, is a question.

[ Arguably Yu and Rise's personas don't look nearly as dopey, but that's a conversation for another time. Right now he has to be badass. He likes being cool and for someone to think he's cool, if even for a few minutes.
