I know it's been awhile [A really long while for him] but I wanted to say thank you for getting me back to my apartment. Sorry for the trouble.

[ Despite how Yosuke had pretty much chewed him out back there, he actually sounds happy to hear from him. ]

Dude, you don't need to thank me for that. I figure you'd might want some space after everything that happened. How're you feeling?

[zombiedude]

I'm... good. [As good as one can be when they're stuck in a crappy place like Cerealia.]

If I'm remembering right, I think I may have, uh, passed out on you mid-conversation. I'm sorry for that too, if that actually happened. [Awkward tone is a-go, because he's pretty sure Yosuke was also yelling at him when he'd fallen on him.]

[youraffection]

[ There's a huff on Yosuke's end of the line. ]

Yeah, you kind of did. But I think I figured it out...what you did was pretty exhausting, right?

[zombiedude]

Yeah. If I overuse it, things would... get bad. [That happened before: he went into a shadow coma and almost died. Not something he wants to repeat anytime soon.] Something was blocking me from using it before. It wasn't until we got close to the room with the stairs that it worked.

Yeah...

[ He pauses for a moment. He's been meaning to do this for a while, so... ]

Sorry about that. I kind of chewed you out back there. I should've guessed at the time you had a reason not to use it before.

I don't fault you for it. It was... an intense day. And I didn't say anything about it earlier. What I can do... It tends to creep people out so I don't really talk about it.

[youraffection]

I guess it's not an ability most people would expect, but this whole place is filled with unexpected things. It's not just you, man. The creepiest things I've seen have definitely been from CERES.

[zombiedude]

I've unfortunately seen worse... I hope CERES never gets to that level. [Because he'd probably just fall to his knees, start screaming, and go insane if CERES made things as worse as Tartarus.] But... thanks for not finding me as creepy as some of the things CERES has thrown at us.

Dude, no way. You don't have to thank me for that. We're all in this together. You're one of us.

[zombiedude]

... [He's silent for awhile, not entirely sure how to answer that. He's gotten less incredulous that not everyone finds him freaky after having been home for six months, but he's still a bit thrown by being so readily accepted. He knows Yosuke just said he didn't need to thank him, but he's not sure what else to say to express his appreciation besides, saying softly:] Thanks, Yosuke.

How, uh... how long have you been here?

[youraffection]

[ He doesn't need to wave it off again, he'll just accept the quiet gratitude. Not everyone is used to his group's particular brand of camaraderie, he's realized. ]

Not too long. Well...this time, at least. All I can remember is the past month. What about you?

[zombiedude]

About 8 months. [Not like he was keeping track or anything, not at all.] But I was sent home for about 6, then was brought back, so it's a bit complicated now.

Do you have any friends from your world here too?

[youraffection]

Six months?

[ Wait... ]

...So you went back and you remember everything?

[ That's not at all his experience. ]

--Yeah. My best friends. I'm really lucky to have them around.

[zombiedude]

I only remembered here after I was brought back. I didn't remember anything about Cerealia while I was back home.

[He's glad to hear Yosuke has people he knows in the city.] It's easier being here with people you know.

Oh...gotcha. [ Hm...does that mean he's done something wrong when he came back? ] Did it feel like anything? When you came back, I mean. Like an "Ah ha!" moment?

[ He's hoping... ]

Yeah, it is. I don't know what I'd be doing without them. [ Though... ] Does that mean you've got people here too?

I had to go through that stupid PowerPoint presentation again. [He says it dryly.] But no, it didn't feel any different than the first time. [At least as far as he can remember. He was here for months before he went back home and he doesn't have a eidetic memory.]

No; it's just me. There have been others, three, and two of them I knew personally, but they didn't stay for very long before they disappeared. Although... I guess you could count Cerberus as being someone from home, but he's a dog, not a person.

Ah...well, that part sucks.

[ It was a crappy PowerPoint to begin with. ]

Wait...like...that three-headed dog?

[Nico lets out a soft laugh. ] Yeah, that's the one.

You...mean that in a literal sense, don't you?

[zombiedude]

Yep. He's the Cerberus, three heads and all.

Holy shit dude. That's one helluva pet...

He originally was my father's guard dog but he showed up here one day some months back. He's... been a good friend. [One of his very few here and sometimes even only one at times after people have disappeared.]

[youraffection]

So...does that mean you take him to the park like a normal dog?

[zombiedude]

That's right. I walk him every day too.
