[ Yu, of course, is calm and casual as one might expect, at least outwardly. It doesn't diminish his grin in the least. Yosuke sits back and settles beside him, pulling his legs up close to his chest to balance the controller on his knees. ]

You kidding me? This is awesome! It feels like it's been forever since we played one of these...

[ Or. Er... ]

...or just gotten to be lazy and dick around with video games in general.

[ There's a bowl of popcorn between them so he can't really bump Yu's shoulder like he would like to, but still reaches over to playfully elbow him. ]

Yeah... [ Hummed thoughtfully with a faint smile. He nudges Yosuke back when he's elbowed, his smile turning into a grin again. ]

It's important to just relax sometimes, isn't it?

[ That was true back home, too, with the pressures of the case. The stakes are even higher, here. ]

Ready to lose?

[ His voice turns low and challenging, a glint in his eye. ]

[ It sure is, but that's a lesson he thinks Yu needs to learn before everyone else. The guy is a bonafide workaholic. Yosuke at least knows how to properly waste time. Even better with friends. Especially Yu.

At the challenge, Yosuke grins, turning his attention back to the TV. ]

That's big talk there, Yu. You sure you can back it up?

[ Because he's selected the course and the countdown begins. ]

Show me what you've got, partner!

[ The thing is that they both know racing games aren't Yu's forte. He is, funnily enough, best at fighting games, at least when it comes to competitive multiplayer games. Fighting games rely on a particular combination of memorization and rapid muscle memory, two things at which he excels. But racing games .... they're a little more instinctive, and require an intuition he just seems to lack.

Of course, he knew this when he picked the game. But when he was buying it, he pictured the look on Yosuke's face, and that pretty much did him in.

He tries not to think about what that means for how bad he's probably got it. He only mostly succeeds.

So he just grins and nods, and they take off when the race starts. He makes it a contest, at least - he manages to pull into first place once or twice. But ultimately, Yosuke pulls ahead, Yu tsking softly under his breath as they cross the finish line. ]
