[ but like he said, souji does eventually show up at yosuke's house, feeling a little tense. he hasn't even told these memories to yu so there's a sense of... guilt as if he's sneaking behind his brother's back (which he really is). he stopped by the nearby convenience store before arriving at yosuke's, just picking up a few drinks for yosuke since he figures that he should bring a gift if he's taking up the other boy's time. ]

[ after a deep breath, he rings the doorbell. ding donggggg ]

[ Yosuke is more than happy to have him. He's hanging out in the living room, actually, because he knows that Souji is heading over. Even so, it's his mother that beats him to the door. It opens carefully, revealing a woman in her mid-40s, dark brown hair that hits her chin. She smiles politely. And speaks in Japanese, ]

You must be Narukami-kun?

Ah!

[ And here comes Yosuke, running over and looking a little embarrassed as she opens the door to allow Souji to come inside. ]

I was gonna get that...

[ Ah, well, that was fast. Yosuke said that his parents were home so Souji knew that he was going to meet at least one of them but right at the door... well, he's pretty well composed so he doesn't seem that thrown off. In fact, he just bows his head slightly (his mother is really big on the politeness). ]

Yes, it's nice to meet you, Hanamura-san.

[ He walks in and looks over at Yosuke, just with a small cheeky smile. ]

[ haha he met your mom and you're embarassed ]

[ Yosuke is so 100% embarrassed that Souji has met his mom. She, of course, is completely unfazed by this and probably used to Yosuke being a little more skittish about having his friends over. ]

Are you going up to your room, Yosuke?

Yeah...of course.

[ He shuffles awkwardly. ]

Well, then I won't be keeping you. I'll bring some snacks up in a bit.

It's cool, mom...

[ Yosuke likes his mom. He really does. But parents and friends are a strange combination. Which is why he quickly nods for Souji to follow him as his mother moves back down the hallway. ]

[ Souji doesn't laugh or say anything but he does have the small hidden cheeky smile the entire time, especially after Yosuke's mother goes back down the hallway.]

She's nice.

[ There's a teasing tone underlying all this but he genuinely means it. It must be nice, to have a mother who's openly friendly and around like that... ]

Yeah, I know!

[ Okay, he does really like his mom, but he's not ready to be embarrassed about this! Yosuke takes the stairs two steps at a time, avoiding all eye contact. He waits for Souji at the top of the stairs, eyes on his feet. ]

She's just...I don't know. Happy to see someone over who isn't Keigo.
