[ The past few nights have been difficult. Yosuke usually sleeps better next to Yu, but with his boyfriend so restless and Yosuke so worried, he's also been staying up in an attempt to keep vigil. He doesn't always make it, but he does try to make sure that he's only an arm's length away at any given time. Just in case Yu needs him--either as a shoulder to cry or just someone to curl up to.

Tonight is restless for other reasons. Yosuke's attempt to kiss Yu's worries away has slowly evolved into something a little heavier. Though he tries to be mindful of any lines that Yu isn't able to cross with his mind and heart so heavily weighed upon, he also wants to give Yu something to enjoy, if at least for a moment.

Straddling Yu's hips, hands on his chest, Yosuke presses down gently on the other boy, a warm reminder that he's not alone. Each kiss is returned, over and over, meeting each of his silent questions,

I'll stay.

I already love you.

I'm not going anywhere.

He sighs, sliding his hands up to Yu's shoulders, slowly rubbing his thumbs along the line of Yu's collarbone through the fabric of his shirt. ]

[ Yosuke's hands pressing him down feel like the only thing keeping him here. Keeping him real. His eyes sting with wetness he doesn't want to admit to himself is there.

Instead Yu rolls his hips, sighing into Yosuke's mouth and wrapping arms around his neck. ]

I love you so much.

[ That little motion surprises Yosuke more than anything. He let's out a gasp between them, eyes opening and brows raised in question. Was that intentional or a side effect of where they have been going?

Still...

He smooths his hands up Yu's neck to cup his face instead, placing a firm kiss on Yu's lips. His knees dig into the mattress of the guest bed, locking on either side of his boyfriend's hips. ]

Yu...

[ His lips hang open a moment.

I love you too. ]

...

[ If he says it, will it seem like pity? Is he overthinking it? Yosuke isn't sure, so he settles on another kiss, his hands moving back down Yu's chest to his stomach. ]

I want...

[ Yu arches up into him again, sighing and shutting his eyes as Yosuke kisses him silent. His hands slip low, finding the hem of Yosuke's shirt and starting to slowly push it up. ]

Yosuke.

[ It--clearly wasn't an accident, was it? Yosuke's heart skips a beat in his chest. It's still...a new to them, getting to explore each other in a deeper way. Christmas Eve was the first and last time they were intimate. A few weeks seems like forever and yesterday at the same time. As itching as Yosuke is at the thought, there is something more important than getting to know more of Yu's body--already knowing his heart. ]

Yu...?

[ Yosuke pulls back a little, watching Yu's face. His eyes are a little red around the edges, a little tired, even closed as they are. But he has to know. He pauses before placing a calming kiss on Yu's bottom lip. His question is a whisper, ]

What do you want?

[ Yu's mind is always in a million places and nowhere at all, these days. His scattered thoughts rarely seem to collect, except when they must, or when Yosuke touches his skin.

He's selfish. He's a selfish, awful person, clinging to someone he probably isn't supposed to have. Hanging on despite all logic, all expected outcomes of whatever his failed story means for his life. Someday... someday-- a whispery, shivery part of Yu's soul can't help but think that someday he and Yosuke will have to part, and there won't be anything he can do about it. All because of what a failure he is.

But he's selfish, and he loves Yosuke Hanamura -- this Yosuke, in this life -- more than he will ever in any life have words for.

Yu blinks his eyes open slowly, and they're still wet, moisture clinging to his eyelashes. He breathes out slow, his eyes searching Yosuke's face. Then he leans up to nuzzle at his boyfriend's cheek. ]

You. I want you. Even if I'm selfish, or weak... even if it's not fair-- I love you, [ he whispers, like it's a confession. ]

[ Yosuke honestly doesn't want to think about the implications of being from different timelines, realities, whatever. He'd grown so comfortable in the idea that this group of friends was so connected, even if he only put so much stock into the memories they experience. It just felt so natural. Being with Yu is just another product of that, right?

Or, maybe not. Maybe Yu is just that wonderful on his own. In some ways, it's better...better to know that his feelings aren't the product of some past life or alternate reality--they're real, because of this boy who helped change his world.

He wishes he could help Yu understand that.

Oh, Yu. He hates seeing him look so sad.

Yosuke reaches back up to try and wipe away some of the moisture, gentle and caring, only to give a small huff at the nuzzle afterwards. ]

Y-Yu...

[ Yosuke shakes his head lightly, placing a few small kisses next to Yu's mouth. ]

You're none of those things...

[ Not a single one. ]

Unless you're implying I've got bad taste.

[ Humor...may or may not be welcome, but he's trying. He nuzzles Yu's nose, then sighs again. ]

You've got me.

[ I love you. ]

[ Even if I'm not, I'd be those things for you, he thinks but does not say.

Overcome, Yu does not reply for fear his voice would crack. Instead he turns his head and kisses Yosuke's nose, his cheek, his chin, whatever it is he can reach. He breathes out a soft, long sigh, knowing Yosuke will hear the way it shivers with tears he won't shed.

But ... it's fine. It's just the two of them. ]

You've got terrible taste, [ he whispers, a smile blooming across his face like the sun peeking over the horizon after a storm. ] You didn't get me a trombone.

[ He'll cry, if he thinks about it too much. He's not even sure what he wants to cry for. He's just feeling so much, so intensely, that it has to find an outlet or he'll combust. ]

[ Yu...how is he always so sweet, even when he's in so much pain? He'll take that smile, though. It's a small break in the cloud of sadness that's been hovering around Yu for weeks now. He'll take every bit he can get. ]

Do you want one?

[ He kisses Yu slowly, very slowly, very gently. ]

...I'll get you one.

[ Another kiss. ]

Even put cat stickers on it.

[ The sound Yu makes into that first kiss is just a little needy, and the look on his face is a little glazed when Yosuke pulls away again.

His hands slip low, to grip his boyfriend's butt instead. A bit of a raunchy counterpoint to the tender way he murmurs, ]

What would you do if I asked you for the moon?

[ Oh.

Well.

Yosuke sucks in a quick breath, staring at Yu for a moment, curious and questioning. Is this...what he wants? Is this what will make him feel whole, worthwhile, wanted? ]

Hm...

[ He'll test the waters. Slowly, carefully Yosuke slides his hands down the sides of Yu's torso, taking a moment to dip his thumbs along his hip bones. ]

[ And pushes back slightly against Yu's hand. ]

He knows how to get there.

[ Yu just kinda... blinks at him, once or twice. And then his expression screws up, and he...

... starts to laugh. For the very first time since late December. And his laughter gets mixed up with barely-there gasps as Yosuke touches him, his hips again rolling up into his boyfriend's. For a moment ... just a moment, he feels ...

... happy ... ]

I don't -- I don't need the moon. Not when I already have the sun.

[ His hands squeeze, and he hides his smile against the joint of Yosuke's jaw as he arches up into his boyfriend to press a few kisses to his skin. ]

[ Yosuke drinks up that laugh. Every damn decibel. It's so refreshing, so wonderful that Yosuke thinks he'll do anything to hear Yu do it again. His intention is to kiss Yu immediately, but the roll of Yu's hips up into his is...well, pushing certain things against other things. And that feels kind of nice. ]

You--

[ That squeeze, that little smile, those words--that's plenty enough for Yosuke to grind himself back down with a little more purpose and grips Yu's waist.. ]

--are so cheesy sometimes...

[ For now, at least, it's like the clouds have broken. Yu keeps laughing, even when that laugh turns into little gasps of need, ah, ahhh sounds Yosuke might recognize. His muted warmth and his hotter need meld into the same thing. He burns and brightens, reflecting Yosuke's light. ]

Then what are you? [ his voice is a low, sweet murmur, but the way he grinds up into his boyfriend has a rhythm and a purpose now. his nerve endings spark everywhere yosuke touches him. ]

The bread to my cheese? The fruit to my chocolate? [ muttered as his teeth find purchase on any skin they can, biting gently. ]

[ He loves it. Loves, loves, loves that Yu continues to laugh. That there's a familiar airiness to it. It pulls a laugh of his own as he breathes out in hot puffs onto Yu's neck as he grinds back down, knees digging into the mattress, meeting each roll of Yu's hips with his own.

That feels nice. That feels really nice. Warmth spreads through his loins. ]

...Y-Your partner?

[ That's not a metaphor at all. ]

[ Another laughing gasp. ]

Yo-Yosuke--

[ Yu pulls Yosuke down hard, breathing out hot against his boyfriend's skin. His hands pull back -- and this time, snake their way into Yosuke's pants. ]

My partner.

[ He's definitely grabbing a handful of ass, smiling against Yosuke's lips. ]

My Yosuke.

[ Yu kisses him hard, hoping to steal his breath away. ]

Mn!

[ A surprised groan gets lost in that kiss, but the growing bulge in Yosuke's pants is hard to miss. He takes the opportunity to move his hands away from Yu's waist to slide up the front of his shirt, letting his fingers skate along the definition in his stomach and chest as he pushes that shirt up. ]

Yeah...

[ He breathes out against the other boy's lips in a short break, grinding down, again and again. ]

M' yours...

[ He pulls at Yu's bottom lip with his teeth. ]

'n you're mine.

I love you, [ Yu whispers once his mouth is free. For the first time in days, weeks?, he feels like he fits inside his own skin.

Yosuke isn't the only one with a growing problem. Yu can't take much more of this friction and heat -- not with all their clothes still on, anyway. Yu pulls his hands back again, instead hooking his thumbs into Yosuke's waistband. ]

Think we should get these off...?

[ Yosuke pulls up, slightly, so he can look down at the other boy more clearly. His pants...off entirely? That's definitely a step forward from last time. He takes a few heavy breaths to let it sink in, eyes glancing down Yu's frame, noting where he left the edge of his shirt strew halfway up his chest. ]

Yeah...

[ He looks back up, tugging back at that shirt. ]

You first, though.

[ Shirtless Yu is one of his favorites versions. ]

[ Yu pushes himself up on his elbows, and the smile on his face is ... it looks like normal. Like Yu.

He'll comply easily, tugging his shirt up over his head and tossing it to the floor. But once that's done, he'll sit up enough to wrap his arms loosely around Yosuke's neck. ]

Thank you. [ very soft. ]

[ That's a good smile. That's a smile worth fighting for.

Yosuke helps him pull his shirt off, his own hands dropping to the button of his jeans, but he pauses when he feels Yu's arms around his neck. He blinks, catching the other boy's gaze with a questioning one of his own. ]

Hm?

[ He's pretty sure Yu doesn't mean for helping him take his shirt off... ]

[ A flash of a grin. Yu just cups his face and kisses him quick, then lets himself flop back onto the bed. ]

It's nothing. Keep going.

[ Yosuke tilts his head slightly, but moves his attention to the task at hand. (Yu's good mood, maybe? No, that's honestly Yu's doing, not his. But he's happy to see it.) Yosuke unbuttons his jeans and opens his fly, which is the easy part to do without looking like an idiot. Unfortunately skinny jeans are never something one takes off gracefully, especially while trying to kind of straddle another person...

Yosuke actually has to roll off Yu partway through because they're so damn tight just ends up yanking them off inside out and sending them flopping over the side of the bed.

Whew.

Of course now he's kind of half laying next to Yu...trying not to make eye contact. Because that was definitely not sexy. ]

[ Yu cannot stop smiling. Even with Yosuke flopping around like a fish. Or maybe because of that...?

Well, he won't give his boyfriend too much time to be self-conscious. He'll roll onto his side, push up on his elbow, and kiss Yosuke hard while his other hand sneaks its way down into Yosuke's boxers to start stroking his erection. He won't strip Yosuke naked. Not unless he want to be.

I love you. I love you. Thank you. I love you so much. ]

[ He is so fantastically good at ruining the mood, Yosuke thinks. And Yu is so fantastically good at recovering it. He gives a low hum when their lips connect again, followed by a deep groan as Yu's hand slips inside his underwear. It's a touch that Yosuke is only just getting to know, but it's a nice one.

Propping himself up with one arm as well, Yosuke's free hand runs almost reverently across Yu's skin, noting the planes of his chest that make him so decidedly male, down to the dip of his bellybutton. He breathes out across the other boy's lips, heavy and warm. His erection twitches in Yu's hand. ]
