[ Except Yosuke totally hears that because he is 100% tuned in on Yu right now. His cheeks redden and his hand stills on Yu's back. ]

[ Ah. Yu has to pause, resting his face in his hand and trying not to ... to what? burst into tears, or laughter? how does he describe this feeling? ]

As if it's so obvious... [ murmured. He turns his head to look at his boyfriend, trying and failing to hide how pleased he is. ]

[ Yosuke groans dramatically, though it's good-natured despite his efforts. ]

You already live with like six or ten or shit, I've lost count. How many more could you get?

[ He draws Yosuke into his arms, a laugh hidden deep in his belly doing its best to make his shoulders shake. ]

Would you let me have one for every month of the year?

[ Yosuke does sound genuinely distressed, even as he places his hands on Yu's arms. ]

Aren't there laws against that?

[ Now Yu laughs outright, bumping his forehead against his boyfriend's. ]

Are you saying you'd report me to the police?

Maybe for your own good! I don't think I could compete with ten cats. Six is hard enough.

You'd send your own boyfriend to jail? That's cold, Yosuke... I thought better of you than that.

[ He is outright nuzzling his boyfriend. When really he needs to rescue the cocoa.. ]

[ So not paying attention to the cocoa right now, tbh. Yosuke laughs, squeezing Yu's upper arms lightly. ]

This mandatory minimum sentencing thing has really gotten out of hand, huh?

[ pecks the tip of Yosuke's nose. ]

[ He's...pretty sure Yu is joking about that. He is joking, right? Yosuke does not want to think about cleaning 12 litter boxes. ]

I guess the real question is can you put up with me? I'm kind of lacking the whole covered in fur and shits in a box thing.

[ Yu chokes, hiding his face in his boyfriend's hair to laugh disbelievingly. ]

Well, we can at least get a cute pair of cat ears on you...

[ He really likes hearing Yu laugh like this again. ]

[ oh god, the cocoa. he has to rescue the cocoa. Yu wriggles out of his boyfriend's arms and pulls the pot off the fire, and the sound he makes is somewhere between a sigh and a laugh. ]

Sure. We'll get a pair that matches your hair.

[youraffection]

[ Oops. Yosuke follows Yu's whirl of movements with wide eyes, raising his brows as Yu moves the pot. ]

Did it burn?

[ Honestly he cares more about Yu than the cocoa.

He huffs to Yu's comment with a somewhat awkward grin. ]

Is that the compromise?

[covenantal]

[ Yu glances up at his boyfriend, eyes bright, and then...

... winks at him. Cheeky as anything.

Cheerily he sets about pouring the steaming hot cocoa into their two mugs, setting the extra back on the stove. The cocoa will be too hot to drink for some time yet... ]

[ Yosuke puts his hand back on Yu's arm, trying to get his attention. ]

Hey.

[ Looks up at him, a small smile touching the corners of his mouth. ]

[youraffection]

[ He leans in and kisses that mouth, soft and slow. When Yosuke finally pulls back, his own smile is a little dopy. ]

I'm glad you feel ready. And I'm glad you're starting to see that you're someone we all really care about, no matter what happened or will happen.

[covenantal]

[ Yu hums into the kiss, a deep and warm sound. It feels good. This -- this moment -- feels good.

His expression turns tender at what Yosuke says, and he glances away, shaking his head just a little. ]

... even if I've made mistakes ... it's alright for me to be here, [ he murmurs, as if he can't quite believe it. ]

[youraffection]

It's more than alright.

[ He runs his hand up Yu's arm to wrap around his shoulders instead. ]

You're wanted here.

[covenantal]

... I'm glad, [ he whispers, leaning in to nuzzle his boyfriend gently. ] Because I want to be here, too.

[youraffection]

[ Yosuke steals another kiss because he can. ]

Good.

[ And another. ]

Because you're gonna have a helluva time getting away from us now.
