[ Gah. Yu will slow to a lope, then to a walk as he catches up with Yosuke, knowing when he's lost. When he does make it there he'll move to stand in front of Yosuke, who is currently defenseless with his arms stretched up over his head. Yu gives him kind of a narrow, considering look, as if he might be wondering how dearly it might cost him to tickle Yosuke right now and ruin his life.

In the end, all he does is reach up and poke Yosuke in the forehead. ]

Yeah, of course you won, you cheater.

[ Taking a few steps back, Yu will turn and face away, then also does a shallow hop to grab one of the bars. Then he pulls his body up, curling it, so he can stick his legs through the bars instead. He'll use his feet to hook himself securely, and then let himself hang upside down facing Yosuke. Not really caring, he lets his arms dangle, too, just kinda chilling out upside down with his shirt rucking up around his middle. ]

Well, I guess in terms of the night's victories, that makes us even.

[ Yosuke, while not knowing Yu's dubious intentions, is glad that he isn't tickled, as he likely would have lost his grip and awkwardly tumbled onto the both of them. And that probably would have hurt.

He can't help the way his grin widens cheekily at the pop on his forehead. Yes, Yosuke is proud. It's about time he's won something, right? Even if Yu had no heads up. Still, he watches as the other boy goes for the monkey bars as well, although Yu ups his game. Yu is the one on the sports team so it shouldn't be a surprise that he has to show off and loop his feet through the bars, although Yosuke has to admit that seeing him upside down with his hair sticking up is pretty funny.

Although...he really can't help the way that his eyes dart upwards as Yu's shirt decides to go, well, downwards.

...Y-Yeah, he has been working out, huh? ]

Huh?

[ Wait, what? Oh. Shit.

Yosuke quickly shakes himself out of it. ]

Yeah! Yeah, we're even now, haha.

[ Awkward.

Even though he's allowed to look now. Right? Right.

Yosuke lifts his feet up slightly just to avoid any potential dragging as he swings back and forth through a couple bars. ]

These sure seemed a lot taller as a kid.

[ Was Yosuke distracted because of him?

Upside down it's a little harder to make out exactly what's going across Yosuke's face, especially in the moonlight, but the way he paused was pretty suspicious. Yu just kinda hangs there for a few moments more, considering this development, and then casually stretches, his whole body arching slightly in a way that makes his shirt ruck up a little further.

And then he goes back to casually dangling. ]

Does this mean you won't take me out to lunch on Sunday?

[ Also casual, teasing.

Yu will relent his silent teasing in the form of curling his body up again, gripping a bar in his hands and untangling his feet so they come loose and fall below him. Once he's free, he'll drop to stand properly, shaking out his head to fix his hair. Then he'll take a step back to watch Yosuke swing. ]

They're still pretty fun.

[ Yu is so doing that on purpose and frankly it's rude. Yosuke could be jealous but instead it just makes him feel a little embarrassingly warm. Ahem. ]

Well, there are a few places I still wanna try out...so I guess.

[ He tries to make it sound like an ordeal, but it's probably obvious that it doesn't affect his plans to take Yu out at all. (Take him out, is he really thinking that way?)

Somehow Yu makes that landing look easy too. Ugh, it's so not far. Yosuke looks back up at the bars and tries to swing his legs up too. ]

Yeah, but--rugh--

[ Okay, maybe it's less about sheer strength and more about momentum? Yosuke decides to try that angle and swings his legs back and forth before taking one big push forward--and manages to catch his feet on one of the bars. ]

Woohoo!

[ Now he's hanging from all fours, but as he looks upside down, he grins at Yu. ]

What do you say to a tie-breaker?

[ Rude, but also effective. All's fair in love and war, Yosuke.

Yu just watches Yosuke struggle with it, laughing a little. He's about to offer advice when Yosuke figures it out for himself, and he golf claps politely. ]

You did it.

[ Circling around to stand in front of Yosuke's upside down face, Yu will grin indulgently at him, though with some skepticism. ]

So you want to lose this badly... alright. I'm in.

[ This feels a little like a Dora the Explorer episode, but he sure did do it and he totally deserves the applause, thank you.

Yosuke's grin turns a little challenging as he raises his brows devilishly, which probably looks a little silly upside down. ]

Let's see who can stay upside down the longest, yeah?

[ ...

Well, why not?

Laughing, Yu will glance up at the bars, looking for the best one to grab. ]

You're on. Don't complain when you get dizzy, though.

[ He'll hop up in pretty much the exact same manner as before, positioning himself so that when he dangles upside down, he'll be able to see Yosuke. Once again he lets himself dangle, almost lazily. ]

So, whoever loses now ... can buy dinner sometime this week?

[ Slightly hopeful. ]

[ As soon as Yu positions himself, Yosuke finally lets go and allows himself to hang down. Seeing Yu upside down when you're right side up is funny, but seeing him upside down when you're also upside down is kind of hilarious.

Yosuke giggles. ]

Yeah? Okay! I'll take that bet.

[ Does that mean that they already have two dates planned...? ]

[ It sure does mean they already have two dates planned. Yu can't help grinning, even with all his blood rushing to his head.

After a moment of the two of them just kinda hanging there: ]

So, how's the weather been lately?

[ You know. Light conversation.

(He's messing with him.) ]

[ Yosuke huffs crossing his arms, which is a strange sensation upside down. ]

Dude, it's the same weather you've been having.

[ Yes, he knows that Yu is just being his subtly silly self. But that's a self that Yosuke's quite fond of. ]

This isn't distraction tactics, is it? Because that's not gonna work.

Is it? Funny, after we'd been apart so much today... could it be that we experienced the same weather because our hearts were always with each other?

[ This is definitely distraction tactics.

Is it working. ]

[ It's--well, it's definitely doing something. Not sure what it is yet, but Yosuke looks a little dubious. ]

Dude.

[ Or just not believing. ]

I can't even tell how much you're kidding me right now.

Why would I joke about something like that?

[ so, so innocently. ]

I really was thinking about you all day. I couldn't stop picturing your smile. That must mean my heart was with you, right?

[ Yeah.

It's definitely working.

Yosuke visibly flusters as he cheeks start to take on a darker hue. He unfolds his arms and reaches forward, giving Yu a gentle shove. ]

Okay, now I know you're messing with me.

[ Just swings slightly with the shove, casual as you please.

But on the oh so gentle swing back towards Yosuke his hands snap out to grab his boyfriend's hands... and then intertwine all their fingers together. He's smiling in a way that's a little more real this time. ]

It's the truth, you know. I've always liked your smile. Maybe that's why my crush on you started, in the beginning.

[ Yu is absolutely the biggest dork in the world and Yosuke wonders why it took him so long to realize how smitten he's been.

He's surprised, but doesn't fight as Yu links their hands together. The blood rushing to his head isn't helping at all with the blush that he would try to hide if he could. Though he tries to keep his edge, his gaze does soften. ]

Okay so first you send me a playlist of love songs, spend a night running around with me in a deserted playground, and now you tell me that you've always liked my smile...are you even real?

[ Tilts his head, a normal motion for him, but it's made much funnier by the way it makes his upside-down hair flop around. ]

Hm. Maybe not. I could be a ghost.

[ Pushes on Yosuke's hands without letting go. The motion will make the both of them swing, very slightly. ]

Would you still date me if I were a ghost, Yosuke?

[ It's funny and almost painfully endearing. The whole scene is, actually. Yosuke's heart has to work harder in his chest, but it's definitely not all due to gravity.

They swing and Yosuke starts to think he could get used to this. So he pushes back a little, cementing his grip on Yu's. ]

No way. Sorry, but I'm not into dead people.

That's a shame.

[ A grin flits across his mouth, and Yu pushes in turn. They'll get a rhythm going. Slowly back and forth.

They must look like idiots. ]

Think we know any good necromancers?

[ He likes this. It's simple and silly and makes him feel lightheaded for numerous reasons. He's smiling through his objections, totally taken in by the other boy--his boyfriend.

Wow. ]

That's kind of an old time gig. I don't think there's a section on Craigslist.

[ There aren't many people, he figures, who would swing upside down from a set of monkey bars with him while they talk about necromancers. But Yosuke... Yosuke is one of those people.

He really cannot stop thinking about how lucky he is. ]

We could put an ad out on Retrospec. [ Very seriously: ] "Wanted: one necromancer to bring a teenage ghost back to life so that he and his boyfriend can be happy--"

[ He might not always indulge this level of ridiculousness, but he's in a good mood. Yu tends to push the boundaries of Yosuke's ability to play along, though.

Yosuke rolls his eyes and shakes his head, which is particularly funny with his hair on end. Without giving himself a chance to second guess his resolve, Yosuke bravely leans forward and plants a quick but firm kiss on Yu's lips.

There. ]

---S-See? You're real.

[ ....

i-iyaan.

Thanks to all the blood already in his head, his blush, when it comes, isn't that noticeable. Yu feels like he's on fire, though. Yosuke just leaned forward and kissed him--

--just like that--

--like it was so simple!

It sure did shut him up, though.

Yu has to let go of one of Yosuke's hands so he can hide his face, instead. From between splayed fingers he glances shyly at Yosuke and murmurs: ]

... when you put it like that, I guess it must be true.

[ He's a little surprised, but pleased by his own actions. Yu looks flustered as hell and Yosuke feels like he's got a leg up in their competition. ]

You're so weird sometimes...

[ There's amusement in his gaze. ]

[ Emotionally spent from a single kiss, Yu will let go of Yosuke's other hand and let his arms dangle over his head again, sighing and shutting his eyes. ]

You still kissed me.

[ So being weird is ok. ]
